Konjō

Description

We are Bakuhatsu Taiko Dan, a student-run, nonprofit organization at UC Davis dedicated to the art of taiko. Bakuhatsu is dedicated to promoting awareness and appreciation of Japanese culture throughout the community and its surrounding areas. Through teaching and performing, we bring the energy and art of taiko to those who have not yet had the opportunity to experience it. The word "Bakuhatsu" translates to "explosion," expressing the high energy of our performers on stage.

On Saturday, May 4th, 2019 from 4:00PM to 6:00PM,  we will be hosting our 8th annual showcase: “根性(Konjō, which means “willpower.” Within this time frame, Bakuhatsu will be performing selected music from our repertoire along with special collaborations with other organizations and individuals on campus. 

Tickets are $10 for presale and $12 starting April 22nd. We will be selling a limited number of Tickets online and the remainder by Bakuhatsu members at the UC Davis Memorial Union Quad Tables on weekdays from April 22th - May 3rd from 1000 (10:00AM) to 1400 (2:00PM). After this period, tickets will be sold at the event (depending on availability).
